Terms of Service

Welcome to Scentuary (“Scentuary,” “we,” “us”). Scentuary is a website for tracking your fragrance collection, journaling your wears, writing reviews, building lists and itineraries, and following other collectors. By creating an account or using the service at scentuary.me (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Scentuary. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We store your password only as a salted hash and never in plain text.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the reviews, journal entries, lists, itineraries, images, and other content you create (“Your Content”). By posting Your Content you grant Scentuary a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute it solely to operate and provide the Service (for example, showing your public reviews on a perfume page). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in routine backups for a limited period or as required by law.

You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• post content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, or that violates another person’s rights or privacy;
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or brand;
• spam, post fake reviews, manipulate ratings, or run bots or automated scraping against the Service;
• attempt to breach security, probe or disrupt the Service, or exceed rate limits we apply;
• use the Service to build a competing dataset or product.

5. Reporting and moderation

You can report content you believe violates these Terms using the report controls in the app. We may review, remove, or restrict content, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion and without notice where appropriate. We are not obligated to monitor content but may do so.

6. AI features

Scentuary offers AI-assisted recommendations and text generation powered by third-party models (Amazon Bedrock). AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. It is not professional advice. Your prompts and relevant profile data are processed to generate responses as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, and the “Scentuary” name and logo, is owned by us and protected by law. Perfume names, brands, and related catalog information are the property of their respective owners and are used for reference and discovery. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our or third parties’ trademarks.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that catalog data is accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scentuary will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for a free account, is zero) or USD 50.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content license for backups, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
