Dance With The Devil
Don't be a saint tonight, unveil your dark side Opening with thyme, green and biting like crushed stems on warm skin. Then the florals arrive dressed for trouble: de mai and Isparta rose turned dense and wine-dark, jasmine sambac flashing intoxicating heady heat, violet leaf and iris cutting a cool blade through the pulse, geranium adding a metallic snap. Hiba wood sits underneath keeping the bloom controlled, almost stern. The base is the dare. Ceremonial incense smolders into wool's intimate animalic warmth, then tobacco, amyris, and a worn leather accord drag everything closer to the body. Ciste, Peru balsam, benzoin, decalepis, and cinnamon seal it in resinous warmth; oud, cypriol, patchouli, gurjun, and oakmoss stain it with shadow. Musks and woody ambers help to lift and exalt the whole composition into something refined, elegant, and never straying to far into the darkness.
