Molecule 04

The genius behind Escentric Molecules’ formula of perfect simplicity is in just how well they select their featured ingredients, and for the 04 series, perfumer Geza Schoen selected Javanol, a cutting-edge synthetic with sandalwood qualities. But unlike the velvety sandalwood of Molecule 01’s Iso E Super, Javanol is intriguingly crisp, with a lively, almost psychedelic freshness beneath the smooth woodiness. Molecule 04 brings to the forefront the futuristic freshness of Javanol, a sheer sandalwood molecule contrasted with a metallic grapefruit edge. Javanol retains the radiance and endurance of natural sandalwood, but is sheer and transparent like no sandalwood in nature. As if stripped off its heaviness, all that you then recognize in the scent are the rosy, creamy, tropical sheer wood facets in “psychedelic freshness”. It feels light, with a green “stripped bark” note that brings in an element of the great outdoors.
