Olibanum Resins

Great civilizations, such as the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, considered olibanum to be more precious than gold. This resin, offered by the Three Wisemen, was one of the first raw materials to be burnt for its scent, for diffusing its laudable aroma and for communicating with the gods through asending fumes. The Latin term “Per fuman,” which means “through smoke,” is the origin of the word “perfume.”
