The sun was hot as it kissed our skin. The land was arid, branches of earth cracking beneath our feet, as we greeted hikers along the trail. A few miles into the hike, we came upon a small watering hole where the trees above kept it lush, cool and vibrantly green. The temperature cooled as the earth released gushes of cool water onto smooth grey rocks.
