Pure Cupressus sempervirens essential oil. Cypress is extracted from the leaves and twigs of Cupressus sempervirens , the Mediterranean cypress (also known as Italian cypress, Tuscan cypress, or Persian cypress), a species of cypress native to the eastern Mediterranean region. Cypress has a sweet-balsamic scent slightly similar to pine, Templin fir cone, juniper berry, and cardamom. The low notes are lasting and sweet with amber and ambergris-like characteristics. It is traditionally used in perfumery for its uplifting, energizing properties. Tall and slender, the cypress tree epitomizes upward motion and centered energy.
