I had the idea to ‘dirty’ up the original Black Sails for quite some time. I envisioned the same ship from Black Sails, long after the sun’s gone down. The pirates have been knocking back their gin and decided to fire off a cannon. “Farrgh the scent of it”, they said. So, I cranked up the spice and added an herbal kick of Angelica. The woods I wanted to put a little more emphasis on while also darkening the base notes and dirtying them up. The soul of Black Sails is there, just different.
