Balakirev

A musical orchestra of notes, the first perfume of three in the musical series, Balakirev, an ode to iris with an Oriental twist. Typically inspiration comes in perfume from a story, and here is the story of Balakirev. Mily Balakirev, one of the most prominent Russian composers of all time, composed his masterpiece, Islamey, an Oriental fantasy, to become one of the most complex and beautiful pieces of piano ever to exist. Being a part time amateur pianist myself, I drew my inspiration listening to this magnificent piece, what made Islamey too special was the masterful blending of notes, even when seemingly irrational from a music theory perspective. All good things must have this kind of madness in them, and Balakirev is no different. Wild Filipino oud fused with Iris and Orris, this composition is more than 25% Iris and Orris Extracts, its insane, and all the other notes twirl around it creating this zesty powdery vibe with whiffs of Oriental style incense hitting the nose every now and then. Balakirev is 25% Orris and Florentine Iris.
