When analyzing the charts of aromatic fougere fragrances, there is one that tops them and keeps its position even decades later. This fragrance is Azzaro Pour Homme, and the duo of perfumers responsible for its creation knew exactly what they were doing when they fused together the verdant oakmoss, classy lavender, and earthy vetiver. These unapologetically masculine ingredients combined to form a pillar of natural notes that would eventually elevate this fragrance to the zenith of its success. This made the fragrance an olfactory ruler of its type. However, the charts began to crumble once reformulations set in and began to chisel away at the notes that were responsible for its initial infrastructure. For this inspired expression, we got our hands on a bottle of the original and vintage formulation from 1985, and our recreation is like nothing you have smelled in the last couple of decades. This inspiration will immediately transport you to the 80's when longevity was the last thing you worried about in a perfume. The Ruler is our recreation of this beast, and you will notice the oakmoss, lavender, and vetiver combination as it was in the mid-80's.
