Niche perfume house Parfums de Marly is no stranger to producing high quality perfumes. One such perfume that caught the attention of many is Kalan. This fragrance is an unapologetic combination of lavender, blood orange and spices, and it borders on sweet territory without fully committing. Upon its release, many were quick to make comparisons to other fragrances, but there is no denying that Kalan stands out as its own unique olfactory creation! The lavender and spicy opening eventually settles into a base of amber and white sandalwood, which creates warmth and smoothness to an otherwise sharp opening. Moss and woodsy notes also provide a masculine quality, which is desirable for a fragrance of its kind. Our inspired expression of Kalan is called Gaelic Origin, and the meaning of the original name is “eternal warrior!” We find this to be a fitting name considering the powerful spicy opening with the enduring woodsy base of the composition. Kalan is what we like to call “the red beast,” and we are happy to finally have our own uncompromising interpretation of the fragrance! If you are a fan of Kalan, there is no denying that you will love Gaelic Origin by The Dua Brand!
