Femme Fatale

When the La Collection Privée line by Christian Dior was released, there was a lot of excitement for Gris Montaigne, which is a chypré floral fragrance from the brand. Several years later, the brand chose to discontinue several fragrances from the original lineup, and others were afflicted with reformulation. One such fragrance, now known as Gris Dior, is Gris Montaigne by Christian Dior. The vintage formulation is known for its sensual aroma and long-lasting appeal. With notes of rose, patchouli, and oakmoss, this is truly a unique take on the chypré floral genre. The brand is firm in saying that the formula has remained unchanged, but lovers of the original fragrance from 2013 comment that the performance of the original is infinitely better than the Gris Dior counterpart. For this reason, we sourced a vintage bottle for analysis purposes in creation our version, which we decided to call Femme Fatale. Like the female character in noir films, this fragrance is dangerous and alluring. Gorgeous natural rose in the opening paves the way for patchouli, oakmoss, cedar, and other earthy notes in the dry down.
